Mountain Bike

Near Pietra Ligure there are the famous downhill free-rides of Finale Ligure, and recently several trails in the Pietra Ligure area  have been rediscovered and cleaned. Local guides who know the area are available. They are ready to suggest the best itineraries and can provide a shuttle service for bikes. There are also itineraries for enduro or XC classic of different difficulties and lengths. Guests can also rent mountain bikes,  fat-bikes and pedal assist electric bikes. The Perla Marina Apartments is equipped with storage for bikes, a pressure cleaner and an air compressor for cleaning and drying  bikes. Also, we have a little workshop for repairs, a service laundry and dryer for bikers technical clothes.

HIKING

The Finale Ligure area is a magical place for those who like hiking. There are many different itineraries to discover: from prehistoric caves and neolithic menhirs to medieval castles and roman bridges. The intense scent of the Mediterranean scrub (sage, myrtle, lavender, rosemary and others) will accompany you on all your walks; You can discover rare endemic types of plants and different types of scrub within short distances of each other.

CANYONING

For those who want to try out this activity the most interesting itineraries in the area are the Rio Lerca and Prialunga, in the Beigua National Park or the Rio di Santa Lucia in the Arroscia Valley. Other itineraries are concentrated in Roja Valley on the border with France. A wet suit is necessary for this sport. In this activity, you have the opportunity to abseil, do vertiginous dives, fun toboggans and swim through emerald lakes.

CYCLING

The “Riviera delle Palme” in Liguria offers many cycling itineraries that are not difficult and there are long sections of  bike paths. However, if you prefer more difficult itineraries, you can try the Apennine passes of  Melogno and San Bernardo, the Colle del Quazzo, the Giovo di Toirano, the Colle di Nava and the Colle di Cadibona. All for expert riders who are fit and ready for fast changes in the weather.

CLIMBING

Pietra Ligure is located in the centre of the triangle formed by the crags of Finale Ligure, Albenga and Toirano. In these climbing centres, you will find the characteristic rock of Finale, with pockets and drops of all shapes and sizes, the big overhangs of Albenga and the compact vertical rock faces of Toirano.

SAILING

It is possible to enjoy the ancient ligurian tradition of sailing, going passed the beautiful islands of Bergeggi and Gallinara, both wildlife reserves. It is also possible to fish or to simply enjoy the day out watching for dolphins which often accompany the boat and sometimes it is possible if you are lucky to catch sight of whales.

VIA FERRATA

Yes! There are also Via Ferrata in Liguria! The nearest is called “Ferrata Degli Artisti” and is near Magliolo. An itinerary suitable for all those who want to experience the complexity of a mountain route without the difficulty. In fact with the use of the correct equipment, you can experience a really thrilling climb.

SNORKELING

When the sea is calm the Marine Paths of Borgio Verezzi are perfect for observing the marine fauna and flora. Many of these Marine Paths along this section of coast can be used to observe the characteristic Holocene beachrock formations, called the “Ciappe di Borgio Verezzi”.

FIT WALKING

Fit walking is the act of walking at a fast pace with walking poles. Your guide will teach you the technique to transform normal walking into a sport suitable for everyone amidst beautiful scenery and fantastic views.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

It is also possible to go horse riding, enjoy a day out in an adventure park, go trekking in the evening having dinner and returning by night using torches and also to visit the local caves. Nearby there are several tennis courts, and in 20 minutes by car there is the Garlenda Golf Club.
